Are you interested in the medical/health field? KEI's Medicine, Health & Biomedical Science Programs (MHBS) are intended for undergraduate and graduate students interested in medicine, nursing, dentistry, physical therapy and other health-related careers. These programs offer the following academic and professional options:
  • Clinical courses, such as Human Gross Anatomy (in cadaver lab), Operative Surgery and Internal Medicine, etc.
  • Biomedical science courses, such as Embryology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Histology, etc.
  • Clinical internships at major hospitals and community clinics.
  • Biomedical research internships.
  • Foreign language courses - many specializing on medical terminology and patient communication.
  • Regional and culture studies, general education and liberal arts courses to supplement and diversify your experience abroad.

As the case with all KEI programs, there is no foreign language requirement. Courses and internships are conducted in English. Students from the host university are invited to join the courses making for a truly international experience.

KEI partners with top research universities and medical schools to offer MHBS concentrations:
NEW programs which offer MHBS concentrations are being planned to start in 2009 at the following locations:
  • INDIA: Pune
  • SPAIN: Burgos

MHBS concentrations are offered during the semester, academic year and summer sessions. Students can earn up to 18 academic credits (for courses and internships) during the semester and up to 12 credits during the summer. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required to participate on these programs.

Interested in studying in South America? Ecuador offers amazing cultural, academic, professional and recreational experiences at an affordable price. The program is based at the Universidad Espíritu Santo, a private university in with an excellent reputation. KEI students are immersed in courses with local students for added cultural immersion.

Ecuador is one of the most ecologically diverse countries in the world. The Amazon rainforest, Andes mountain range, Pacific coast and Galápagos Islands attribute to more than 1,600 endemic species of plants and animals. The country is bordered by Columbia, Peru and The Pacific Ocean, making it convenient for travel in South America.

The program in Ecuador offers the following academic and professional concentrations with many courses to choose from in both English and Spanish. Students interested in learning the Spanish language can take up to 2 Spanish language courses (in increasing level of proficiency) in a single semester.
