CHINA: Beijing
UIBE is a wonderful institution for study and I was able to meet very interesting people.

In many ways, this program helped me become more independent as a person. I have gained many real-life experiences by interacting with Chinese business people and many other students. I want to thank KEI for giving me this opportunity, and supporting me in every way.

Zeng Lin
Rider University

Most definitely the time of my life! I couldn't ask for anything better. I learned a lot about China through the business courses and field trips. In Shanghai we visited the French Concession where I stood in the room where the first Communist meeting was held in secret. You get chills when you take a step back and think about what has actually happened. Nanjing, Sanzhou, Hanzhou, and Wuxi were equally as impressive and impressionable. To get a history lesson in the place it happened is priceless.

I’m happy that I had the opportunity to live and study here. I hope that in the future I can come back and work here because there is a lot of people that need support in any social agency.

Ecuador is a country that can offer you a variety of unforgettable experiences. I will never forget the relationships I’ve made with my host family, my friends, and the girls that live at the foundation I volunteered at, they touched my heart in a very special way.

Monica (UEES Int. Student)

I was able to learn about many illnesses and preventive health measures which are prevalent in Ecuador. In the afternoons, I was treated to three hours of Spanish classes with some of the most fantastic teachers I have ever had. I never expected to learn as much as Spanish as I did in such a short time!

Rozalin (UEES Int. Student)

This was an excellent experience. I learned a great deal about the culture, the country of Ecuador and the people. I would recommend it to any student willing to take on a challenge.

This was a wonderful experience that I am grateful for. I would like to say thank you for making the opportunity possible and thank you for the effort and time to make this study possible and as simple for me. This was a remarkable experience which I will never forget.

Paris is a very diverse place which I did not think it was. People are very friendly and willing to help if you just ask politely.

The program is a great opportunity for students that are interested in International Business.

Thank you for the opportunity to learn a new and interesting culture and know exactly what area of study I will be pursuing for grad school.

Things are going very well. Brian is a great Onsite Coordinator. I have made good friends with others in the program and I really enjoyed working at the radio station. I have a lot of free time here - I am finding ways to have fun. Thanks for all the help!

Amelia Metier
University of Oregon

The structure of business studies at Griffith allowed me to pursue my interest in human resource management. The model of continual assessment and the personalized approach ensured that we were well prepared for the business market.

I greatly appreciated all the calls and information from the KEI team before my departures. Also, the opportunity itself was the greatest thing I have experienced thus far. I hope to keep this relationship alive for a long time to come.

Studying abroad is one of the most life-changing opportunities. With KEI, I was able to experience the world at an even more affordable price than a semester at my home institution. Venetian Art History is a class I will never forget. The instructor, Krystina Stermole, was engaging and informative. The hands-on, experiential structure of the class allowed us to go beyond the slides and textbooks of a classroom with a chance to understand art, architecture and its history because it was right in front of us.

Italy was unforgettable and I can't tell you how much it will impact me, all of us, for our entire life. The Scuola was a home away from home, and the year undeniably special. After the program I found a job teaching studio arts in a private Florentine school. Thank you!!!

Cristina Pinton
Massachusetts College of Art

I loved the apartment. Venetians are really friendly—we made friends with the pizza man next door and a father-daughter pair from around the block. I think an artistically-minded person would appreciate and benefit from this program, and I would recommend it to them.

KENYA: Nairobi
Patrick (KEI On-Site Coordinator) was easy to find or contact if I needed something or had any questions. He was very knowledgeable, kind and accessible. He was a positive part of my KEI experience. Patrick is wonderful!

The girls in Kenya participate more in class discussions than in the USA. It was really nice and refreshing – an interesting cultural difference. There were many more group projects, class presentations and discussions than at my school from home. It is a much more interactive and involved learning process. I liked it.

I was really glad to be on campus. It made it easier to meet people and I felt like I was in the center of everything.

Bailey McGuinness
George Washington University

Great value, good experience, beautiful country. Kellen (International Students Officer) literally took my hand and walked me through every step of the registration process.

Jill Hansen
University of South Carolina

Patrick was simply amazing. He was known by all of us to be laid back and hilarious. He never made you feel as if you were imposing on his time if you went by to ask a quick question and he felt much more approachable than the majority of the professors at USIU.

Be patient and realize you are in Kenya for more than academics. You are there to learn about a country and its people — a region that is incredibly different than your own.

Denise Dunovant
University of South Carolina

I feel that our program compared to other American students staying in Kenya was the best because everything was so well planned and there was so much to do. We experienced much more of the country than the other students. The excursions and Patrick (KEI Onsite Coordinator) were great. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t enjoy about the program.

I absolutely loved my African experience. The Americans that also went and the Kenyans I met are some of the coolest people I know. I will definitely be returning.

Megan Fuehrer
University of Nebraska

The people in Kenya were incredibly kind and generous, to be honest, very much unlike what I’m used to in the U.S. Kenya is a beautiful place and I would love to go back. It was great having the opportunity to study in Kenya and meet so many people who ended up becoming great friends, and also to travel to so many amazing places that most Americans would never dream of. I know it sounds cheesy, but there was actually a moment when I was sitting with some friends and I just turned and said “I think deciding to come here was honestly the best decision of my life. I can’t believe I ever considered not coming.

MEXICO: Guadalajara
I learned more than I could have ever imagined from the people I met, especially those from my internship. I have been working on my Spanish and learning about Mexican culture, not just as an outsider, but as someone who lives and works in Mexico.

I am really enjoying myself here. I am very busy with classes, community service and working out at the gym. I made friends very quickly at the school and always experiencing something new. Everyone is so friendly.

The planned excursions are excellent. I especially liked the trip to Guantajuato.

My host family is really making my stay enjoyable. I like the food and really getting a lot out of cultural experience.

Thank you so much for all your help and making my transition into Mexico a very smooth one. I feel very comfortable in my surroundings, having a whole lot of fun and I am learning so much! My study abroad experience is a success.

RUSSIA: Moscow
In Moscow, I stood amazed at the site of Lenin’s Tomb, St. Basil’s Cathedral, Red Square and Tritikovsky Boulevard. In St. Petersburg, I marveled at the eloquent architecture, lavish palaces, glaring city lights, endless waterways and spectacular drawbridges. However, my most memorable experiences were seeing Cinderella performed by the Kremlin Ballet, and watching the punk rockers, animal tamers and artists display their talents on Old Arbat Street.

Jennifer McMonigle

The culture is such an experience and with such a large range of academics/professional opportunities it is just great.

Professor Bogdonov is essentially a human encyclopedia of Russian politics. I took notes on nearly every sentence he spoke. Who knew a 3-hour lecture could be so interesting?!?

John Reid

The internship is killer. I am an investor relations intern at a new, but very respectable firm. We are doing work for RZD, the largest railroad company in Russia.

Justin Huff

RUSSIA: Pushchino
My best memories of the program are of the scientists I worked with, the project I completed, and the students I lived with. Seeing Moscow and St. Petersburg was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The research experience was priceless; the environment was scientific. It was possible to experience first-hand how scientists work, without having to sift through the simplification of education-minded teachers. I was a semi-finalist in the Intel Science Talent Search. I'm going to Princeton University to study electrical engineering, and I'll probably go to grad school for biology.

Nicholas Stroustrup
Watchung Hills Regional High School

The research was challenging and stimulating, and it was available for me to dissect, interpret and form into my own unique work. I finished a good scientific research paper that I will use to compete in different science competitions.

I wanted to thank you for helping give my daughter an incredible summer. She loved her experience. The Onsite Coordinator was perfect - warm, caring, involved, and willing to help with problems as they arose. Thanks to your terrific supervision and care, everything ran smoothly and all the students had a great time.

SOUTH AFRICA: Pretoria
I like everything about the University of Pretoria. The lecturers are at a very high standard. Everyone is polite. Students come from all over the world. Its easy to make friends. I would advise students from the USA to come to Pretoria to study. They will like it here. View video interview...

SPAIN: Barcelona
Truly loving Barcelona, what a lovely international city. This past weekend I went to Rome. Seeing all the paintings and structures in person was overwhelming, and shows that pictures really do not do it justice. I like the school here a lot as well. Its a small school, which is nice because the classroom sizes are like Marist College and it reminds me of Marist because you see a lot of the same faces. The students are from all over the world which gives you a good perspective on things and allows you to hang out with kids who aren't American. I like my classes a lot as well and feel like I am going to learn a lot.

John LiGreci
Marist College

The New York staff were very prompt in answering questions, willing to help (even silly questions!) and understanding. The school was international and I learned so much about the world and different cultures.

THAILAND: Bangkok
I love Thailand! I just got back from the best weekend. My roommates and a bunch of kids from Germany, Italy and Netherlands went to a place called RCA, a street lined with dance clubs. The next day we spent shopping at JJ Market.

I love my [clinical] internship. Each week my schedule changes and I shadow someone different. This week I work at Siririja Hospital in the mornings and go to Pinklao OPD in the afternoons. The staff is extremely helpful and very young so I felt very comfortable with them. Also I have lots of interaction with the patients so that was very nice.

I have met so many awesome Thai students. The people are more than hospitable. They also love to practice their English.

Stephanie Littman
Auburn University

We have been non-stop with school and all our travels. There were so many professors from so many different places at the University, so they knew a lot about many subjects. I am definitely having an amazing time, and I love it even more every time I think about all the snow and freezing weather back home!
