HOME STUDENTS: KEI SERVICES

You are never alone on a KEI program. Our On-Site Coordinators (OSC) are accessible 24/7 to assist you. Your OSC will become an important part of the program, helping connect you to the host culture, location and university.

Every student receives a cell phone with initial calling minutes at the beginning of the program. Unlike other study abroad program providers, KEI does not charge for the use of the phones (students are responsible for covering the cost of personal calls). We believe it's an important safety feature and facilitates communication between students and OSCs, new friends in the host country and people back home.

OSCs have extensive knowledge of the host country and culture, and form close relations with the host university. In most cases, OSCs are part of the administrative staff and faculty at the host institution, allowing for convenient access and better integration.

OSCs perform a variety of functions during the program.
  • Liaison between KEI's New York staff, host institution, home institution and students.
  • Greet students at the airport and arrange transfer to housing.
  • Conduct a comprehensive orientation.
  • Serve as advisors - academics, internships, culture, etc.
  • Assist in resolving problems that may arise.
  • Meet with students on a regular basis.
  • Serve as the main point of contact in emergencies.
  • Plan cultural excursions and activities.
  • Provide advice about local travel.

KEI students also have access to facilities and services provided by the host institution. Most host universities have friendly and knowledgeable staff to assist international students with whatever issues may arise during the program.
