Academics: Semester & Academic Year
The semester and academic year curriculum offers courses and internships.
Courses are taught at London South Bank University (LSBU).
Internships are organized at various companies, NGOs and humanitarian organizations.
Students can enroll in a maximum of 16 credits per semester.
Most courses and internships are the equivalent of 4 semester credits in the USA.

Students must enroll in one of the following courses.
London: City of Change is intended for most students (except Fashion and Merchandising majors).Made in London is intended for Fashion and Merchandising students.Produced in London is intended for performing arts (music, drama, theater, etc.) students.
TABS at the bottom of the Course Offerings file allow you to switch between the six LSBU schools and departments.
Course titles are listed under the UNIT column of the Course Offerings file.
Course descriptions are listed under the DESCRIPTION column. You may have to move the lower border of the description cell to view the entire description.
The SEMESTER column indicates when courses are offered: 1 means Fall semester; 2 means Spring semester; B means both semesters.
Disregard the LEVEL and CREDIT columns as they do not apply to study abroad students.
Syllabi are organized by department within each LSBU school: Arts & Creative Industries (ACI), Applied Science & Psychology (ASP), Built Environment & Architecture (BEA), Business (BUS), Engineering (ENG), School of Health & Social Care (HSC), and Law & Social Sciences (LSS).

Students interested in the fashion merchandising and retail concentration must enroll in the Made in London course and Fashion/Retail Internship .
In addition, students can enroll in two courses from the fashion or any other concentration offered at LSBU.

Internship (FAM_5_LDP)
Internships allow students to learn from practical experience not attainable in a classroom setting.
Internships require a commitment of 120 to 200 hours (3 credits).
Placement is based on professional interests and availability.
Previous placements include Lloyd's TSB, Accenture Plc, Air France, Working Titles Films and BMW.
Actual placement may be with a different organization.

Credit and transcripts for courses and internships is issued by London South Bank University (accredited in England) and SUNY Old Westbury (accredited in USA).
Academic terminology
The curriculum at LSBU is based on the British system.
As such, some of the academic terminology is different from that used in the USA.
Below are some examples.
British USA Unit Course Subject Units belonging to an academic concentration. (Ex. business) Course Degree program. (Ex. BA in business) Faculty Department, school or college. (Ex. faculty of business)

London South Bank University (LSBU), established in 1892, is the oldest, largest and most diverse university in London.
The University is regarded for its academic standards, practical curriculum, research, expert faculty and community outreach.
The campus is situated in central London, a short walk from many of London's major landmarks.
