London is one of the world's most exciting cities.
From the latest Hollywood films to theatrical productions to world-class museums to vibrant night clubs, London offers every form of entertainment.
Student can participate in university clubs, sports and campus activities.
Athletic clubs include rugby, badminton, basketball, cricket, football (soccer), hockey, jitsu, karate, netball, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball and wu shu kwan.
KEI encourages students to become engaged in the local community.
Volunteer opportunities range from litter cleanup, planting trees, working for a UK not-for-profit or assisting the Borough of Southwark in a number of activities.
Housing & meals
Housing is provided at the university residence hall, located in Southwark, a short walk from the administrative and academic buildings.
The residence is conveniently situated in central London near the Tate Modern, Globe Theater and Borough Market area.
Students live in suites with a shared kitchen and dining area.
Four to nine students share a suite.
Bedrooms are single occupancy.
Each bedroom has a private bathroom, 'pay as you talk' telephone and a data point allowing access to the University's intranet and the internet.
Basic cleaning equipment, including a vacuum cleaner is provided.
A coin operated laundry is available in the residence hall.
The campus offers several cafes.
Southwark also has many restaurants, pubs and cafes to choose from.
Most students take the opportunity to learn how to shop and cook "English-style” by making their breakfast and dinner in the residence kitchen.
Grocery stores and markets are in the neighborhood.
Getting around town
London has an excellent public transportation system.
The Underground (metro) is the most convenient mode of transportation.
The nearest Underground station to the residence hall is Borough (Northern Line), approximately 5 minutes walk.
The London Bridge Station is also within walking distance.
Taxis in London are abundant and can be hailed on the street, at a taxi stand, or by calling the dispatcher.
Phones & internet
KEI provides a prepaid mobile phone handset shortly after arrival in London.
The phone will have a small amount of credit to get you started.
Students can purchase additional minutes at most convenience and grocery stores.
The KEI Onsite Director will show students how to place calls and top-off minutes.
Each residential room has a 'pay-as-you-talk' phone and a high-speed internet port.
The LSBU campus also has wireless internet as well as computer labs open during business hours.
