Academics: summerThe 2-month, 6-9 credit summer program offers a Professional Internship and an Intercultural Communications & Management course. Note that universities/colleges in the USA have different requirements for internships, especially the number of work hours. Contact a KEI Advisor to discuss the best combination of internship hours/credit and coursework based on requirements at your university/college and your interests. COM 221 Intercultural Communications & ManagementThe increase in diversity and globalization require employees to develop intercultural competences to work effectively in international assignments, on cross-cultural teams, with increasingly diverse customers and clients. This course is intended as a compliment to a professional internship. It seeks to provide students with an understanding of effective intercultural communication and management, and the challenges that are likely to be faced while interning (and working) internationally. The course focuses on international organizational behavior and practices. 3 credits. Prerequisites: none INT 411 Internship Internships allow students to learn from practical experience not attainable in a classroom setting. Internships require a minimum commitment of 120 for 3 credits and 240 for 6 credits. Note that some universities/colleges may require additional hours for the same number of credits (contact KEI for more information). Placement is based on professional interests. Positions are available in business, marketing, finance, communications, commerce law, public relations and humanitarian aid. Below is a list of possible placements. Actual placement may be at a different company or organization.
