MEDICINE, HEALTH & BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE
The MHBS concentration is intended for undergraduate and graduate students interested in medicine, nursing, dentistry, physical therapy and other health-related careers.
Depending on the program location, this concentration offers the following academic and professional options:
Clinical courses, such as Human Gross Anatomy (in cadaver lab), Operative Surgery and Internal Medicine, etc.
Biomedical science courses, such as Embryology, Medical Microbiology, Clinical Nutrition, Public Health, etc.
Science courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Clinical internships at hospitals and community clinics.
Biomedical research internships.
Foreign language courses, some specializing on medical terminology.

BIOMEDICAL ETHICS CROSS-CULTURAL EDUCATION
The primary objective of BIOCEP is to help students understand how culture and religion influence controversial issues related to bioethics and medical ethics including: emerging infections (Swine flu, HIV, SARS and malaria), integration of Western and Eastern medicines, medical tourism, stem cell research, organ transplantation, informed consent, malnutrition, abortion, public health, genetic testing and reproductive medicine.
BIOCEP is only offred during the summer.
