The Summer Session is four weeks (6 credits) and consists of two required courses – Spanish Culture & Society (3 credits) and Spanish Language (3 credits). The Summer Term is six weeks (9 credits) and consists of an internship (3-6 credits) plus Spanish Culture & Society (3 credits) and/or Spanish Language. Courses are taught at Escuela de Espanol (EDE). Internships are organized at various companies and organizations. Tap a course title to download the syllabus.

Internship & community service

Internships (for-credit) and community service (not-for-credit) allow students to learn from practical experience not attainable in a classroom setting. Internships require a minimum commitment of 120 hours (3 credits), but can be extended to 240 hours (6 credits). Community service does not have a minimum time requirement.

Placement is based on professional interests. Positions are available in business, engineering, excercise science/sports, health, computer science/technology, education, public service, and other professions. Below is a list of previous placements. Actual placement may be at a different company or organization.

CREDIT & TRANSCRIPTS

Credit and transcripts for courses and internships are issued by Escuela de Espanol (validated by the Cervantes Institute under the auspices of the Ministry of Education) and Lincoln University (accredited in USA).

HOST UNIVERSITY

Escuela de Espanol, founded in 2000, is the first and largest Spanish language school in Burgos. EDE also serves as a testing center for Diplomas of Spanish as Foreign Language (DELE), an official qualification certifying levels of competence in the Spanish language.
