Summer Session & Term

The Summer Session is 1 month (6 credits) and consists of two courses – Spanish Culture & Society (3 credits) and Spanish Language (3 credits). The Summer Term is 6 weeks (9 credits) and consists of an internship (3-6 credits) plus Spanish Culture & Society (3 credits) and/or Spanish Language. Courses are taught at Escuela de Espanol (EDE). Internship & community service

Internships (for-credit) and community service (not-for-credit) allow students to learn from practical experience not attainable in a classroom setting. Internships require a minimum commitment of 120 hours (3 credits), but can be extended to 240 hours (6 credits). Community service does not have a minimum time requirement.

Placement is based on professional interests. Positions are available in business, medicine, health and public service. Below is a list of possible placements. Actual placement may be at a different company or organization.

Credit and transcripts for courses and internships are issued by Escuela De Espanol. University of Record transcripts, issued by Lincoln University (accredited in USA), are also available upon request.

HOST UNIVERSITY

Escuela de Espanol (EDE), founded in 2000, is the first and largest Spanish language school in Burgos. EDE’s academic programs are validated by the Cervantes Institute, an organization under teh auspices of the Ministry of Education that oversees the quality of Spanish language instruction.
