Save money on tuition. Most degree programs abroad cost considerably less than a similar program at a private university in the USA.
KEI partner universities abroad offer a variety of degrees including Associates, Bachelors, Masters, Doctoral, Certificate and Diploma programs in a wide range of academic disciplines.
KEI is the official representative in North America of these universities.
Our New York staff will answer questions about academics, tuition, housing, travel and other issues essential to pursuing a degree abroad.
KEI also provides pre-departure guides and advising, as well as assistance during the program.
Our direct enroll services are free of charge!
KEI is paid by the university abroad, so there is no additional cost to you.
Students have two enrollment options.
The option you select will depend on your needs and the host university you plan to attend.
Below is a brief description of each option.
Our staff will be glad to discuss the pros and cons of each enrollment option.
Direct enrollment...
Students enroll directly at the host university. This process is comparable to enrolling at a university in the USA.
Tuition, academic fees and deposits are paid directly to the university abroad in local currency.
KEI provides degree advising, predeparture guides, travel planning, orientation and limited on-site support. KEI services for direct-enroll students are free of charge.
Most universities abroad have staff to assist international students during their studies.
This enrollment option is best for students who are familiar with the host country and educational system, and/or feel comfortable living and making logistical decisions in the host country.
This option is not available at all locations. Please consult with a KEI advisor.
Enroll through KEI for the first term...
Enroll as a KEI study abroad student for the first term (semester, quarter or academic year) and direct enroll the following terms.
The study abroad program fee is paid to KEI for the first term; tuition and other fees are paid to the host university following the first term.
This option is particularly beneficial to students who are not familiar with the host country and culture, and need additional support during their first semester/year of study. After this period, students are responsible for enrolling themselves directly at the host university to complete their degree program.
This option is not available at all locations. Please consult with a KEI advisor.
Degrees and diplomas are awarded by the academic institution abroad after successful completion of all academic requirements.
The institution abroad is solely responsible for awarding degrees and diplomas.
Students may request a transcript from KEI's university of record (an accredited university in the USA).
The transcript will list courses taken at the host university. The transcript is not the equivalent of a degree or certificate from the school of record.
This option may be beneficial for students who want to transfer credit from the host institution abroad to a university in the USA.
Students are required to pay a transcript processing fee of $300 to $500, depending on program location.
The processing fee includes one official and one unofficial transcript.
Additional transcripts may be requested according to standard procedures (and fees) at the university of record.
There are several foreign credential evaluation organizations in the USA that provide official degree equivelncies.
World Education Services is one example of a foreign credential evaluator.
The process usually costs approximately $80-$350. KEI is not responsible for this cost.
