KEI programs include one official and one unofficial transcript.
Program transcripts are issued by the host university abroad, KEI, co-sponsoring institution (CSI) and/or KEI's university of record (UOR).
Co-sponsoring institutions and universities of record are accredited in the USA.
There is no additional fee for the CSI and UOR transcript, but you must inform KEI before the program.
Ask your academic and/or study abroad advisor about the type of transcript your university prefers.
Summer programs may offer courses taught by visiting professors from universities in the USA, which will award credit and issue transcripts for such courses.
Credit for select courses and internships in Tanzania as well as credit for internships in China is awarded by KEI.

Are transcripts included in my program fee?
KEI programs include 1 official and 1 unofficial transcript.
The official transcript will be sent to your home institution at the end of the program.
The unofficial transcript will be sent to your home address.

Requests for additional transcripts must be made directly to the host institution or the university of record.
Students must follow standard procedures of the transcript issuing institution, including payment of fees, if any.
Are KEI programs accredited in the USA?
All KEI programs are either hosted, cosponsored or validated by an accredited university in the USA.
What is the university of record?
A university of record (UOR) is an accredited university in the USA that validates KEI programs to ensure that the academic component meets with regional accrediting standards of the university.
Representatives from the university of record make evaluation visits to the program location, meet with faculty and administrators at the host institution, and provide an equivalency model for assigning grades and academic credit.
What is the co-sponsor institution?
A Co-Sponsor Institution (CSI) is a university or college, accredited in the USA, that has partnered with KEI on a semester, academic year and/or summer study abroad program. The CSI provides academic and logistical oversight for the program, manages the application and enrollment process, and issues program transcripts.
What institution will issue my program transcripts?
Students have the option of receiving program transcripts from
The option that is best for you depends on the policy regulating credit transfer at your home university.
Some universities in the USA prefer to receive transcripts directly from the host institution, while other universities prefer to receive transcripts from a US-accredited institution (university of record).
Students should consult with the study abroad and/or academic advisors on their campus.
Students who are not currently matriculated at a university, including high school students and recent graduates, should speak with a KEI advisor.
What if I want transcripts from both the host institution and university of record?
Students who request transcripts from both the host institution and the university of record must pay a $300 transcript processing fee.
Requests for multiple transcript types must be indicated on the Transcript Request Form.
In our experience, this is usually not necessary for credit transfer.
When are program transcripts sent?
Program transcripts are sent approximately 3 months after the program's end date.
Transcripts will only be released if there is a balance of $0 on your student account and if you have submitted the program evaluation.
What if I need my transcripts sooner?
It may be possible to expedite transcript processing under certain conditions.
For example, students who are graduating soon after their program abroad would be considered for expedited service.
Contact a KEI advisor if you need to expedite the processing time. KEI makes no guarantees about expedition of transcripts.
Transcripts will only be released if there is no balance on your student account and if you have submitted the program evaluation.
Where do I specify the address for mailing my official and unofficial transcripts?
The Transcript Request Form contains sections for transcript type (host institution, university of record, or both) and mailing addresses for the official and unofficial transcripts.
Students should complete and return the Transcript Request Form before the enrollment deadline for the program.
I am interested in a degree/certificate program abroad. What institution issues my transcripts? The host institution awards the degree and/or certificate. Be aware that many foreign universities do not issue transcripts after each term of study. Students are simply awarded a degree or diploma upon successful completion of the program. Students who enroll in the degree program through KEI are also eligible to receive School or Record transcripts.
